Sri Arunodayam is home to mentally challenged children who have been abandoned. A registered charitable trust, recognised as a reception unit by the Government of Tamil Nadu, Sri Arunodayam rescues, provides care, shelter and rehabilitation for mentally challenged children who have been abandoned by their biological families.

Founded in 2003, Sri Arunodayam has quickly evolved into a shelter for children suffering from a wide spectrum of intellectual disabilities.
