1. What is Sri Arunodayam?
Sri Arunodayam was established in 2003 by Mr. S. Iyyappan a Multi Rehabilitation Worker. The sole objective is to provide utmost care and shelter for mentally challenged and spastics who are destitute and abandoned. The board of trustees governs Sri Arunodayam and the day to day activities are managed by a group of dedicated staff.
2. Is Sri Arunodayam a registered organization?
Sri Arunodayam is a registered public charitable trust Reg No: 360/2002 and certified as FIT institution by Child Welfare Committee Government of Tamil Nadu under Juvenile Justice Care and Protection Act 2000.
3. What does Sri Arunodayam do?
Sri Arunodayam is working for the welfare of abandoned mentally challenged and spastic children. It rescues children from the streets with the support from child help line and police. Presently, it gives shelter to more than 65 inmates, in the age group of one month baby to 30 year old adult. Children are housed in different sections according to their age group.
Sri Arunodayam has rented two independent houses. Children below 5 year are accommodated in one house and adults are in accommodated in another house. Special educators provide self help training and spastic children are administered physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
4. Does Sri Arunodayam receive any foreign and government grants?
Till date, Sri Arunodayam has not received any government or foreign grants.
5. How does Sri Arunodayam raise funds?
Sri Arunodayam depends on the Donations from philanthropic public and from service oriented organizations, which give importance to corporate social responsibility. Public contribution in cash and kind helps in meeting the day to day needs of the children. Sri Arunodayam reaches out to the public by sending appeals.
6. How can I be sure that the money I send is managed correctly?
Sri Arunodayam is committed to utilize all its resources to the maximum possible limits. An Account of all forms of Donations are maintained meticulously. Further, any donor is free to visit our facilities and see the how their donation is changing the lives of the children at Sri Arunodayam.

In addition to Monetary Donations, we accept Clothes, Provisions, Toiletries, Medicines, Furniture, Household Items, Equipments etc.
8. How do I send my contribution to Sri Arunodayam?
You can send Donations by money order, cheque, demand draft. You can donate cash when you visit Sri Arunodayam in person. Please avoid sending cash through mail.

10. What about Tax Exemptions?
Donations to Sri Arunodayam are eligible for tax exemption under section 80G of the Income Tax Act in India. Our receipt would suffice for claiming tax exemptions. The tax rebate is 50% of your contribution to Sri Arunodayam.

Does Sri Arunodayam cater the needs of children those who are having parents?
No, Sri Arunodayam only takes care of destitute and abandoned children. In some cases, if the parents of the abandoned children are located, Sri Arunodayam hands over the child to the parents. If the parents are poverty stricken and are unable to support the child, Sri Arunodayam steps in to provide a livelihood for the parents. Refer the section on Home Based Support for further details.

No, Sri Arunodayam focuses only on serving mentally challenged and spastic children.
